My story: From doubt to blogging success
Start without a net... and succeed
My name is Stephen Mesnildrey, and this is my blog.
I started this blog in 2020, as a kind of side project. A way to see where it would take me, without much expectation. But what happened next... I had absolutely no idea.
In less than two years, what was a simple hobby became one of the businesses of blogging the best performers I've ever seen. My blog brought me over a million euros, without spending a single euro on ads.
What's next? Forbes, Entrepreneur, and Business Insider were quick to notice me.
Today, I am teaching my 500,000 monthly readers and over 70,000 blogging students how to start profitable blogs, and I invite you to join my YouTube channel so you don't miss a thing.
From failure to resilience
But let me tell you how it all started. Because before finding this path, I often failed. I doubted myself. Perfectionism paralyzed me, and the fear of failure often made me give up. However, despite all of this, I never stopped looking for that spark.
Surely you know that feeling: starting something new, with all your heart and soul. We dive into every detail. On Create a logo, we refine the design of our site, we configure social networks... and after months of hard work, we finally dare to share our project with our loved ones.
And then... nothing. The project did not take off as planned, and we gave up discreetly.
Each failure, each abandonment, left a deep mark. I stayed behind my screen, secretly hoping that something would change, while avoiding getting too involved. If I wasn't fully committed, failure would be less painful, right?
But one day I decided that this time it would be different.
A click... finally!
This blog was born from a new approach. I stopped looking for perfection. I learned to get started even when everything was not perfect. I stopped wanting to please everyone. And for the first time, I decided not to say anything to my loved ones until I really succeeded.
And you know what? It worked.
I applied everything I had learned over the years in digital marketing, and I dared to put my name forward, my personal brand. It was risky, but it was time to dare. In a few months, my blog generated its first income. In the space of a few years, it has become one of the best software review sites in the world.
What I've learned along the way
You know, most “About Me” pages tout successes. We talk about successes, numbers, distinctions. But what I am interested in is the history of chess. Because they are the ones who really shape us.
Yes, today, millions of people read my blog, and I have written over 3000 articles. But before that, I had a hard time. I doubted myself, I wanted to give up everything several times.
In 2019, after leaving my job at a tech company, I plunged headfirst into blogging. Not sure if that would work. I stopped hiding. I dared to fail, and it is this desire that has brought me to where I am today.
Let's go back in time...
Let's go back for a moment. Before success, there were many pitfalls.
As far back as I can remember, I've always wanted to launch an online business. At the time, I spent hours planning every detail, perfecting everything... except that when it was time to start everything, doubts set in. I was retiring before I even started.
The idea of sharing my failures, my unsuccessful attempts, frightened me. As if showing my vulnerability was accepting failure. So, I locked myself into a cycle of perfectionism, which only delayed the inevitable.
But one day I stopped playing it safe. I decided to start this blog in my own name, to go all out without worrying about failure.
And guess what? That's when everything changed.
The real turning point
In 2020, this blog took off. I started treating my blog like a real business. I focused on acquiring backlinks, on the organic growth of my traffic, and on the rapid monetization. And all of that, in addition to my full time job.
In a few months, my traffic exploded. Revenues followed. Three months after the launch, I was already generating over €35,000 per month. Six months later, it was over €80,000. I had successfully quit my job to devote myself entirely to my blog.
Conclusion: It's only the beginning
Today, my blog is helping thousands of people start their own. I created a community. I have trained bloggers, entrepreneurs, and I am convinced that you can do it too.
I am here to guide you, inspire you and support you. Do you have dreams? So, get started. Failure is part of the journey. But with persistence, you can turn failures into successes, just like I did.
Thanks for being here, for reading these lines. Your adventure starts now.
And remember: The key to success is not avoiding failure. It's about learning to learn from it.
