How to do this Growth Hack and what can it do for you?

Expected results of this Growth Hack

  • Growth Hack Type: Lead generation by finding the technologies that your prospects use.
  • Expected results: Better knowledge of your customers and segmentation to generate qualified leads.

Why do this Growth Hack?

If you offer technological solutions, this Growth hack is for you.

The more you know the tools your customers use, the better your pitch or your understanding of your customers will be.

How do you do this Growth Hack?

BuiltWith

BuiltWith is a tool that you should get to know and have installed on your browser (like a Chrome extension).

BuiltWith tells you how a website was built and all the technology associated with it, including, for example, its CMS, advertising or optimization tools, and lots of other data!

Growth Hack - Builtwith
This tool can also be used for lead generation because it contains data on tens of thousands of web technologies from more than a quarter of a billion websites.

It shows which sites use CMSs, analytics tools, hosting them, and much more.

Let me be clear about using this tool.

If you offer SaaS software, chances are you'll be able to find prospects using similar technologies. Contact them to see if they are dissatisfied and, if so, offer them your services.

For example, if your service is for Stripe users in Germany, you can filter German e-commerce websites that use Stripe.

Publicwww

Publicwww is also amazing.

This service (which is free to use) is a search tool used to perform searches that are not possible with other search engines.
Growth Hack - Publicwww

Publicwww can search for any HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and text code in the source code of a web page. and

It is now possible to get a list of websites that have a specific piece of code.

Why would you need it?

It will help you find who is using AdNetwork, an affiliate platform, a CMS, WordPress sites using particular themes, and more.
example

For example, let's say you have a product or service that can be added to Hubspot, maybe through an API.

Publicwww will allow you to collect a list of websites that use Hubspot or any other solution.

  • You can also find a list of businesses (websites) that use your competitor's solution.
  • You could then retrieve these results, collect their contact details and contact them to see if they would be interested in your more affordable and more efficient solution.

Using either of these incredible tools is perhaps from my point of view one of the most powerful hacks out there.

How do I get the emails?

By creating a Builtwith account (free), it is possible to recover emails but the success rate is not always very high.

If you don't want to pay for a tool like BuiltWith to search for emails : use business lists and search for decision-makers through Linkedin.
