What is pdfFiller?

pdfFiller is a cloud-based form automation solution designed for small and medium-sized businesses that want to use electronic forms. One PDF editor online and a library of 25 million documents to fill out are among its main features.

pdfFiller Review

The software is available as a browser-based service, as well asAndroid and iOS apps. There is a 30-day free trial, but you have to pay a monthly subscription to use it afterwards.

Features

As part of this PDFFiller review, I tested the software's features. Here is how he behaved:

pdfFiller forms

Creating and filling out forms is something we all have to do at some point or another. Unfortunately, it's a very boring task that takes a long time if we don't have the right tools.

Fortunately, the tool took care of it! I tested several pre-established standard forms and they worked like magic.

I generated one from PDFFiller's templates, and I must say it was pretty easy to fill out. The platform has all the tools needed to create or modify a document. You can choose from a variety of fonts, insert images, or even add standard fields.

pdfFiller has similar features to Google Docs, but it's much more customizable and intuitive when it comes to creating forms.

pdffiller features 2

As you can see in the images above, you can choose from multiple pdfFiller templates in various categories. This is what makes this software compatible with any type of business. You can also see the software's interface and its built-in tools.

Another great thing about the pdfFiller tool is that you can invite people to work on a document together. So, filling out forms can be done quickly and in the comfort of your home.

PDF editor

Another important feature that all PDFFiller reviews cover is the impressive editor. While this software is good for filling out forms, its features go above and beyond.

You can edit PDF files completely.

pdf editor

You can replace text in the downloaded PDF, remove unnecessary information, and even draw on top of it. You also have the option of attaching your electronic signature or putting your initials.

You can also highlight important information, enable comments, or resize the file.

I tried its capabilities and really enjoyed its simplicity. Editing PDFs with pdfFiller was very easy and fun to do. Also, unlike Adobe Acrobat DC, the editor is free.

PDF converter

How many times have you had trouble finding a good PDF file converter for your important documents?

Say goodbye to that.

This tool is secure and can convert PDFs into almost any file format.

All you need to do is select a document from your dashboard and click

Convert.

This allows you to save a lot of time browsing the Internet. Additionally, you can choose the desired destination to send your file to. So, if you've connected your workplace Dropbox account, you can easily upload it directly to your cloud.

You can also set PDFFiller export options before uploading your document. It is a good tool if you want to protect your file with a password, for example.

Digital signage

Our favorite feature so far is the option to put digital signatures on documents. With PDFFiller's signature authentication, you won't have to worry about anything.

As you can see in the images below, you have multiple ways to do this. You can simply type in your name and pdfFiller will design a signature for you.

You can also draw your own using your mouse or touchpad.

In addition, you can download an image of it or scan a drawing on paper via your webcam. However, the latter solution is the least effective because scanning is difficult. While pdfFiller tried to copy it in the best possible way, it's far from perfect.

Other options include receiving a link via text or email and drawing your signature on a mobile device. Scanning a QR code was indeed one of the most effective ways.

Digital library

In the age of digitization, it's easier than ever to complete and submit applications. The ability to sign, submit, and apply online saves not only time but effort as well.

As a result, the PDFFiller online library is one of the largest digital libraries containing most common government forms.

For example, you can find templates for 1099 and W9 forms.

Don't worry! Completing and sending some of these to the IRS won't cause you any problems; they're completely legal. And yes, you can send documents directly to the IRS from the platform. You can also send them to recipients via USPS, email, fax, or text message. Additionally, if your document requires notarization, you can do that as well.

Encryption and security

When it comes to completing government forms online, data privacy is a must. Therefore, document encryption should be top-notch.

With pdfFiller, security is not an issue. It encrypts data with the SHA-256 algorithm. The documents are stored in Amazon's data centers, which protects them from data loss.

pdfFiller Inc. complies with security standards and regulations such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, SOC 2, U.S. ESIGN, and GDPR. This helps the company manage customer data securely and confidentially.

They also have physical protections, which include limited access to facilities and control with authorized access.

The tool is also FERPA and CCPA compliant.

Additional features

The pdfFiller software has a lot more to offer.

pdfFiller has additional features that will help you easily manage your files for smoother workflows. You can easily merge or split PDFs, or reorder their pages. Or you can merge data from an Excel spreadsheet into a PDF to generate a completed document. You can also export the filled data to a spreadsheet. Marking and deleting completed fields in documents are also useful functions of the application.

What can you do with pdfFiller?

My overall impression of pdfFiller has been positive. The software offers almost all the basic tools I needed to create or edit PDFs.

The tools are easy to use on the go and I can work with my documents whenever I want thanks to the advanced but intuitive features and functions offered. Here are some of the features of pdfFiller that I personally enjoyed.

1. Sign documents on the go

My favorite part of the form-filling process was creating our own electronic signature. There are plenty of tools available to help you do this digitally.

But the great thing about pdfFiller is the variety of ways you can do it. Here are a few examples of what you can do with the pdfFiller signature tool:

  • Simply enter your name, and pdfFiller will generate a signature for you. (It won't look like your handwritten signature, but that won't matter in most cases.)
  • You can sign your laptop with your mouse or finger if pdfFiller has a touchscreen.
  • You can download a signature that was previously created.
  • You can sign a piece of paper and place it in front of your webcam.
  • On a mobile device, you can draw a signature with your finger. If you choose the latter option, you can access it in three ways: by clicking on a text link, an email link, or a QR code.

Overall, I was impressed by the wide range of ways in which pdfFiller allows you to create a signature that we haven't seen anywhere else.

2. Document library

In addition to importing the document forms that were sent to you to fill out, pdfFiller has an excellent and comprehensive document library that includes some of the most common government forms in the United Kingdom and the United States.

Foreign freelancers, for example, who need to register their American earnings for tax purposes will find the W-8BEN form here, ready to be filled out.

PDFFiller can only share forms that have been authorized by their creators, and it has already been the subject of a major lawsuit from the California Real Estate Association (C.A.R.) for not doing so. However, when the form is available in the interface, it undoubtedly saves time.

3. Experiment with advanced features

While PDFFiller is useful for filling out forms, it is capable of much more. You can edit PDFs in a variety of ways, including merging PDFs, splitting PDFs, and converting PDFs to.doc, .docx, .rtf, .ppt, .ppt, .jpeg, .jpeg, .png, and.txt formats (and vice versa).

pdfFiller allows you to add text to PDFs and customize the font, color, and size of your characters. You also have tools for writing, highlighting, and drawing, as well as the ability to include images, logos, notes, URLs, and videos in your PDFs.

You can reorder the pages in your document, add additional pages, duplicate and delete pages, etc. The ability to save PDF templates for later use is another useful workflow aid.

Pricing

For starters, there is no free version of pdfFiller; however, there is a 30-day free trial. You need to provide your credit card information to sign up, but you can cancel anytime during the trial period and you won't be charged.

Additionally, if you decide to subscribe, pdfFiller offers a 180-day money-back guarantee to ensure your satisfaction. There are three subscription levels currently offered by pdfFiller.

pdfFiller costs $15 per month and supports up to five users. This plan allows you to send documents to be signed through the SignNow service and includes a subscription to the UsLegalForms.com document library.

You can also create reusable templates and contact customer support via instant chat. For small and medium-sized businesses, this is the best option.

  • Create reusable templates
  • Data collection and export
  • Advanced workflows
  • Instant chat customer support

A PDFFiller subscription is probably overkill if all you need is a way to fill out and sign a digital form from time to time. You'll find that a free tool like Adobe Reader or the 30-day free trial of pdfFiller will suffice.

Customer Support

The PDFfiller reviews are mostly positive when it comes to customer support. However, some people express dissatisfaction with some members of the support team. This is similar to my experience.

Some team members couldn't answer simple questions about cancelling the subscription, which is unacceptable. They also tried to persuade me several times that I should use their services. It might be okay if I hadn't told them multiple times that I didn't want to do it.

Overall, pdfFiller support offers multiple ways to receive information. They have a good help center with lots of useful topics that will solve most problems. They also provide lots of FAQ sections and helpful guides that will help you learn the platform quickly.

customer support

The PDFFiller support team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via live chat and tickets. They also provide email support, and they offer a landline for billing questions only. Also, I didn't have to wait long for a response, which is great. It took them about a minute to respond via live chat and about 30 minutes to respond to my email.

Alternatives to pdfFiller

pdfFiller is a remarkable platform that attempts to make PDF functions more accessible, like Adobe Acrobat. The problem is that the alternatives to Adobe Acrobat can be counted on one hand. Each one has a tip for attracting customers. I recommend choosing the one that allows the most customization of the functions you will use on a daily basis. But here are some of its alternatives:

  • DocuSign
  • PandaDoc
  • iLovePDF
  • Adobe Acrobat
  • Adobe Sign
  • SignNow

1. AirSlate

An alternative to pdfFiller is accessible from the main dashboard. Click on the pdfFiller logo at the top left and click on “AirSlate.” You will then access Airslate.com, a website that offers document processing and workflow robots that can be programmed to meet your needs.

For example, the Google Drive robot works based on IF/THEN conditions to save invoices signed by your customers in their designated folders. The “Pre-fill with Custom Data Bot” robot automatically fills in the fields of your documents according to your conditions. Robots can be combined to work with each other. Each bot requires a separate installation, with AirSlate estimating the installation time for each bot to be 10 minutes.

If you entered a real email address in pdfFiller and then visited and interacted with Airslate.com, expect to receive spam emails at that address. pdfFiller shares your email address with at least one of its partners.

pdffiler vs. airslate

2. Adobe Acrobat

The grandfather of bloatware, Adobe Acrobat, continues to work, mainly due to the creation of a walled garden of software. It has a set of features almost identical to that offered by pdfFiller, with the addition of converting HTML to PDF. The advantage of Adobe Acrobat is its seamless integration with the Adobe suite of products. There is a 7-day free trial, but you may be geolocated and possibly blocked from buying the full version.

FAQs

What does “verified by pdfFiller” mean?

pdfFiller serves as proof that pdffiller Inc. is verifying the time and date of the user's signature.

How much does pdfFiller cost?

It depends on the plan - $8 for Basic, $12 for Plus, $15 for Premium per year.

Is pdfFiller safe to use?

pdfFiller complies with all major security standards and regulations, that's for sure.

Final verdict

If you need to create your own forms and/or templates, pdfFiller has great features to automate the process and organize your work. Sure, there's a learning curve, but with a little bit of effort, you'll undoubtedly gain productivity in the long run.

However, it should be noted that you will need to upgrade to the Premium plan in order to use these advanced tools.

These high level features of PDFFiller are very similar to Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, another subscription-based online tool.

In general, I think pdfFiller is a better option if you mainly work with forms. Plus, the 30-day free trial allows you to try pdfFiller for the first time.
